Founded in 1945, the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science is recognized around the world as a leader in engineering education, research and service. Driving these efforts is the ability to raise funds and support all aspects of fundraising efforts that keep vital research and initiatives in motion and deliver on the School's promise to enhance engineering excellence in California and around the world.

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Development Communications is responsible for helping with the daily operations of the Samueli School of Engineering Annual Fund and Development Communications activities. This individual will coordinate all aspects of direct mail solicitations, email appeals and telemarketing. The Assistant Director will also focus on developing a year-long student giving program, growing a young alumni giving program, and will work with current senior students on managing a senior class giving program. Working in partnership with the Communications team, the Assistant Director will support a unified approach to the Samueli School of Engineering brand guidelines, providing marketing communications resources, consultation, and services, and managing communications vehicles that serve the fundraising priorities of the School. The Assistant Director will work closely with the development and communications team on timely and inspirational campaign and donor communications and creating print and digital materials, inclusive of special writing assignments, such as newsletters, brochures, etc. In addition, this individual will work on social media and marketing communications, donor relations projects, and fundraising proposals.
