Job Description:


The Office of Financial Aid is recruiting for a Director. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director has primary responsibility for leadership, resource management and administrative oversight of financial aid operations. The Director will work in a collaborative and professional manner to problem-solve issues regarding college affordability, access, student support services, financial literacy and retention strategies.


Essential functions include, but are not limited to:


Leadership and Supervision


  • Provide oversight for the division's policies and daily operations.
  • Lead division staff meetings, share information as appropriate, encourage teamwork and promote the development of ideas for improved service and efficiency.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback with each direct report through regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Provide direction to the division for the development and implementation of efficient and high quality services.
  • Lead or serve on teams, committees and task forces as needed to fulfill the goals of the university.

Communication, Collaboration and Service


  • Promote collaboration with all divisions of the university to support student success.
  • Develop and conduct financial aid presentations and participate in outreach activities and financial aid workshops on campus and throughout the region.
  • Provide training and materials to university staff regarding the financial aid process.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between respective departments as they relate to the Office of Financial Aid's role in creating a positive educational experience for students.
  • Integrate efforts to maximize Financial Aid's role in the recruitment and retention of students.

Compliance and Risk Management


  • Develop, implement and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and university policies related to financial aid and scholarships.
  • Monitor, approve, and revise all financial aid packaging for all qualified applicants in accordance with federal, state, institutional, and other policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the Satisfactory Academic Progress and review student withdrawals to ensure compliance as it pertains to the return of Title IV aid.
  • Oversee coordination of student loan processing between students, federal government, outside agencies and the institution.
  • Coordinate all relevant aspects of endowed scholarships to ensure they are awarded properly and meet donor intent.
  • Provide oversight for compliance audits (Single Audit, NCAA, Department of ED, ODHE) throughout the division.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.



Requirements:

A bachelor's degree is required and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.


We are especially interested in applicants proficient in Ellucian Colleague & Informer.


Some evening and weekend hours to provide presentations for prospective students on campus and throughout the region will be required.
