The UCLA Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (www.chemistry.ucla.edu) is pleased to announce Assistant Adjunct Professor openings for 2019. Three Assistant Adjunct Professor positions are open. The Assistant Adjunct Professors are expected to teach, conduct research and/or academic service for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The initial appointment as Assistant Adjunct Professor will be for one year and subject to renewal for the subsequent years. Responsibilities include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and problem sets, supervising teaching assistants, conducting cutting-edge research or academic service with a sponsoring faculty mentor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Candidates will have demonstrated excellence in their previous teaching, research and/or academic service positions. Candidates for this position will be primarily evaluated for teaching excellence, but are also expected to have strong research and/or service records. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and academic community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
