Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, system analysis, or a related discipline
•Minimum of eight (8) years of related and progressively responsible work experience in developing and implementing e-Business technologies and tools
•Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing e-Business solutions.
•Proven leader dedicated to driving continuous improvement in operations.
•Highly effective collaborator and team player willing to engage throughout the organization and assist in establishing mutual priorities.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Must have an extensive knowledge of major ERP software and other related e-Business software and tools.
•Requires knowledge of Materials Management functions and operations, including working across the complete supply chain.
•Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with all Institute constituencies and management levels.
•Must possess strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
•Must be a self-motivated problem solver with the proven ability to lead and collaborate with all levels of the Institution.
•Highly analytical with high-level ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
•Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across various cultural dynamics and influence decisions of others throughout the Institute.
•Ability to manage technology projects and initiatives.
•Must be results oriented, an effective supervisor committed to staff development, and a dedicated self-starter.
•Must possess a high energy level and be responsive to change.
•Requires basic understanding and knowledge of procurement and disbursement regulations.
•Requires the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet established goals and objectives.
•Requires planning, organizational, and effective time-management skills.
•Superior written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Additional Information

The Director of e-Business is responsible for leading and directing the e-Business technologies that allow Rensselaer to implement and maintain a comprehensive and coordinated procure-to-pay cycle including the evaluation, adoption, and operation of e-Business technologies (both procurement and disbursement systems). The Director manages internal operations and strategic supplier relationships which mitigates risk to the Institute by evaluating, implementing, and maintaining appropriate operational controls and audits. The Director will work under the shared leadership of the Assistant Vice President for Administration and the Assistant Vice President for Finance and Controller, to determine the most effective implementation strategies while maintaining effective relationships with leadership in the Procurement and Disbursement Programs in order to evaluate and implement enhancements to both.
