Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a part of the CIO's leadership team, the Director of Applications Delivery and Business Intelligence (IT ADBI) is responsible for not only the Application Delivery and Business Intelligence team but also the enterprise student and business systems for the college.
 
The director will have the opportunity to lead across the college through relationships, projects and by shaping expectations. This vital role will have the opportunity to influence and drive lasting efforts with significant student and community impact.  In close alignment with college wide and functional business strategy, critical components of this position include; establishing and delivering an exceptional user experience, driving the colleges IT governance process, facilitating the project management process and building project business cases, vendor management, technical leadership, establishing system roadmaps, and the continued review of both immediate and strategic efforts to ensure the success and operational delivery of the TCTC enterprise Student, HR and Financial systems portfolio and the Business Intelligence and Reporting portfolio.

Job Duties Include:

  • Lead the Application Delivery & Business Intelligence team. Matrix management will be crucial as many technical or FBO resources across the college increases the available capacity. Directs the ADBI team in day to day activities, prioritizes work, maintains a budget, develops performance metrics and also ensures employees are developing personally and professionally.
  • Governance Council and Project Portfolio process ownership and Project Management – Driving the colleges governance council process which is responsible for prioritizing project requests in regards to the portfolio it governs. Manage the project portfolio process, collaborate with key college stakeholders to understand and develop project proposals and build business cases, identify viable options that meet business needs and opportunities to further the TCTC mission and strategy. Lead cross functional enterprise projects toward successful completion within the established time and budget.
  • Technical, System and Process Leadership – Responsible for the design, delivery, adoption and availability of the colleges enterprise Student, HR and Finance systems portfolio and Business Intelligence and Reporting portfolio. Work closely with functional business leadership to understand the business objectives and processes, provide guidance to leverage applications and improve the user experience as well as the colleges effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Application Delivery and Tier 4 support – Provide hands on support, programming and problem solving.
  • Vendor Management – Establish and leverage vendor relationships, understand product road maps, develop RFP's, evaluate proposals and manage vendor performance. Analyze, investigate and evaluate emerging technology & software trends.

Minimum and Additional Requirements: bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics; management information science or a related field and 3 yrs. experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
