Job Description:
Description of Position:

The SUNY Orange Business Department provides nine degree program opportunities for students. Business Law courses are required in six of those degrees. The Business Law courses provide students with a foundation of the principles and the language of the law governing business transactions.  Business Law 1 topics include the background of law, and the law of contracts. Business Law 2 topics deal with negotiable instruments, partnerships and corporations, real and personal property. The Department also provides students the opportunities to participate in the Business Club at both campuses where students are trained in civic leadership. This position involves teaching a full schedule (30 credits per year) at the freshman and sophomore level consisting of Business Law 1 & 2 courses as well as other core courses including business and management areas.

This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.

This instructor will be expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.

Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.

Requirements:
Education Required:
Minimum Master's Degree in Business or related field, or Juris Doctorate

Experience Required: Some teaching experience and knowledge of the practice of law.  Demonstrated ability with respect to computer skills and applications in the work environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Juris Doctorate Degree. College-level teaching, online teaching, experience in the practice of law

Salary: $51,279 per annum
