Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Dance at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track, renewable Lecturer position in dance starting August 2019. Candidates must possess a technical emphasis in Modern or Ballet dance and have strong choreographic skills. In addition to 4:4 teaching expectations, job responsibilities include institutional and professional services. The department seeks candidates who are passionate about teaching students in a performance-focused Bachelor of Arts program.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Minimum Qualifications:

MFA, earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent in dance, or equivalent in training, ability and/or experience.
An established record of professional experience in the field and strong choreographic skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years of collegiate teaching experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate will contribute expertise in an additional area such as Kinesiology, Pedagogy, Somatics, Jazz, Hip Hop, etc.

As the largest collegiate dance program in the state of Georgia, the KSU Department of Dance employs 16 full/part-time faculty, and is housed in state-of-the-art dance facilities including metropolitan Atlanta’s only Dance Theater. Concentrations in ballet and modern are offered through the B.A. in Dance that was started in 2009. The KSU Dance Company received top regional honors at the 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2018 American College Dance Festival, and performed at the national festivals held at the Miller Theatre in NYC and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
