An important part of UCLA's entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Accelerator enhances the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at UCLA. Founded as a partnership between UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA Library in 2016, the Accelerator was designed to foster a sense of community among UCLA entrepreneurs engaged in the venture initiation process. The 10,000 square foot, state of the art facility is located on the ground floor of the Rosenfeld Library at UCLA Anderson, offers co-working space for 45 individuals, a presentation area with audio/video capability and access to the library's research librarians. The Accelerator hosts guest speakers, topical seminars and "demo days" for resident companies, all of which provide participants with the skills necessary to grow their businesses. The Accelerator's programs complement UCLA Anderson's entrepreneurial curriculum and the extracurricular activities offered by the school's Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

Under the supervision of the Director and Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide primary administrative, marketing/communications, program coordination and day-to-day operational support for the Accelerator. Serve as initial point of contact for inquiries regarding the Accelerator and enforce policies associated with use of facilities. Provide administrative support to the Director and Program Manager to include preparation of presentation materials and expense reimbursements. Coordinate program logistics including room reservations, catering, invitations, materials and travel, supervising student workers and volunteers as needed. Coordinate social media activities, production of newsletter and marketing materials and website updates. Maintain contact database and resource library. Monitor budgets; ensure that all financial transactions are processed in a timely manner and adhere to university policies and procedures. Interpersonal skills and professional demeanor to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of constituents, to include students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, volunteers, executives and the general public. Public speaking ability to represent program effectively to large and small audiences. Required 2. Demonstrated skill in providing high quality customer service. Ability to resolve problems in an effective and diplomatic manner. Required 3. Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when faced with competing requests, changes in assignments and heavy workload. Required 4. Ability to make independent judgments with minimal direction and to
discern when action of a higher level is required. Required 5. Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information and handle
with tact and discretion. Required 6. Ability to compose and prepare concise, logical and grammatically
correct correspondence, marketing and promotional materials and social media content using standard formats. Required 7. Skill in coordinating programs and activities with attention to detail. Required 8. Demonstrated skill in general office management sufficient to manage the Accelerator and its facilities as the key day-to-day administrator. Required 9. Ability to train, motivate, supervise, direct and evaluate work performance of student workers and volunteers in order to manage work flow and delegate duties, when appropriate. Required 10. Familiarity with basic financial and accounting principles and terminology. Ability to develop and monitor program budgets. Required 11. Ability to maintain work standards of good attendance, reliability, productivity, and a positive demeanor. Required 12. Ability to work occasional evening or weekend (1 - 2 per month) events. Required 13. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Computer skills sufficient to produce written materials, presentations and budgets as required, and to maintain program database. Required 14. Knowledge and understanding of university finance, accounting and travel policies, and purchasing and reimbursement processes. Preferred 15. Strong internet research skills with the ability to find and compile interesting and relevant content (blog posts, news items, photos, video, etc.) to inform and engage participants. Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. Preferred 16. General knowledge of HTML, Wordpress and/or content management systems sufficient to maintain program website. Preferred 17. General knowledge and interest in learning about issues related to entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, early-stage investing and other relevant topics.
