The Division of Agriculture is a state wide campus, with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas County. It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. The Administrative Specialist III is responsible for researching and preparing special reports, examining and verifying documents and performing general office duties.
This position will support office activities and serve as the departmental travel administrator. This position will also maintain all departmental leave (appointed and hourly), serve as the departmental receptionist, assist with events, regularly ship/receive packages, prepare vehicle reports and maintain departmental inventory.
As this person serves as the first point of contact for the department, regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is essential.Minimum Qualifications: Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus three years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed.Does this job require any license(s)/certification(s)? Experience working in a University of Arkansas Departmental office.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must. This is the first person that guests to the department interact with. Current knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe creative suite are a must. Knowledge of the University of Arkansas and the Division of Agriculture would be very helpful. Ability and willingness to interact with a diverse population is a must. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work around lots of interruptions is essential.Physical activities associated with this position
