The Department of English at Gettysburg College seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of African American Literature to start in August 2019: https://www.gettysburg.edu/academic-programs/english/ . We welcome applications from candidates working in any period of African American literature. The 3/3 teaching load will include first‑year writing, broad intermediate‑level courses, and more specialized upper‑level courses. The successful candidate will combine excellent undergraduate teaching with a vibrant research agenda.Qualifications
A Ph.D. by time of appointment is preferred. The successful candidate will be committed to the teaching of undergraduates, have a promising research agenda, and contribute to the diversity of our curriculum and/or community.Special Instructions to Applicants
