• The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (A.R.C.P.) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care, Registry examination (R.R.T.), and is experienced in both routine and advanced critical respiratory care.  Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving Respiratory Care.  The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner must demonstrate clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession, in the principles of cardiopulmonary disease and
  appropriate treatment, over the life span of the patient. 
• Qualifications
  Education/experience/licensing:        
  * Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as recognized by the National Board for
  Respiratory Care.
  * Current State Medical Board of Ohio license.
  * Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  
   Communication and other skills:        
  * Shall be in good physical and mental health.
  * Shall be able to work all shifts with some rotation.

• Working Conditions:
  The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner's primary work environment is in the acute care hospital of UTMC, performing the clinical activities, both routine and critical care, that are consistent with the professional practice of Respiratory Care. The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner may be exposed to hazardous or infectious materials or waste.
