Position Description
  • Assistant Professor of Social Work to teach especially in the area of micro practice, mezzo practice, and policy.  The successful candidate must be able to teach across the BSW and MSW curriculum.  The candidate should have demonstrated commitment to social justice through their practice, research or community engagement experience.  A well-planned research agenda and professional contributions consistent with the social and economic justice mission of our programs are expected.  An expressed interest in academic leadership is desirable in the candidate.
  • Qualifications

    Successful applicants must have an MSW, two or more years of post-MSW social work practice experience, and a doctorate in social work or related field.  Doctoral candidates who have completed all but their dissertation may apply; however, applicants should have a PhD by August 15, 2019.

    Successful applicants will be able to provide evidence of accomplishments or strong potential for success in teaching, research, publications, grant writing, and professional service. Successful applicants must be able to work as a positive, contributing team member within the university and with the community. The candidate is expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills. 

    An expressed interest in academic leadership/administration is preferred. Experience in management or supervision in agency practice would be a plus.  A well-planned research agenda and professional contributions consistent with the social and economic justice mission of our programs are expected.
