Description: The University of Redlands School of Music seeks an outstanding musicologist to teach courses in music history and literature as a Visiting Assistant Professor. The one-year appointment begins September 2019 and has the possibility of being renewed for up to three years.

A master’s degree is required, a doctorate and college teaching experience is preferred. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is expected, with a teaching assignment of six courses per academic year.

Applications should include evidence of excellence in teaching, engagement in undergraduate liberal arts education, and creative commitment to meeting the educational needs of an increasingly diverse student body.

The University values applicants who have experience working with students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Applicants are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in assisting diverse student populations to accomplish curricular goals.

The University is located sixty miles east of downtown Los Angeles in a town of 70,000. The campus is surrounded by orange groves and sits at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, one hour from the coast and 45 minutes from Palm Springs.
