Manager for Mail, Document & Distribution Services (MDDS) and in collaboration with the Director, Associate Director, and Assistant Director of MDDS, the incumbent assists the department Programmer and the BruinPost Administrator (mass email service). The incumbent will be responsible for billing and data base management; conversion of legacy systems (MS FoxPro) to new software platforms; development of web page solutions. Incumbent works on multiple tasks providing advanced technical guidance to others, oversight to various technical duties/projects, troubleshooting system errors, supporting complex applications systems and software packages. Business processes include preparation of monthly billing files, budget data analysis, and business process improvement initiatives. Bachelor's degree or 3 years' experience with demonstrated knowledge in the principles and practices of computer programming and/or system analysis (especially in a large University setting) or equivalent education and experience. Required 2. Skill in design, coding, debugging, testing, and documenting complex application systems. Required 3. Skill in creation and maintenance of complex database systems. Required 4. Working knowledge of:
MS Excel, MS Word
FTP, SFTP processes and software clients
Windows Server Administration including 2003, 2008 and 2012
SQL database configuration and management
Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of computer systems, networks and peripherals (i.e. printers, modems, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi repeaters) Required 5.Working Knowledge of:
JavaScript (ability to troubleshoot and correct code)
SQL programming
PTL Fusion Pro
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Acrobat Pro
MS FoxPro
MS Visio, MS Access
Cent OS Preferred 6. Ability to read and understand typography and Production Graphic Design Instructions and apply to print artwork as requested with understanding of Basic Retail Print Business Pricing methodology. Required 7. Skilled knowledge of website administration, analysis and management including SEO. Preferred 8. Proficiency in HTML (the Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), the two core technologies for building Web pages. HTML provides the structure of the page, CSS the (visual and aural) layout, for a variety of devices. Required 9. Customer Service skills sufficient to interact with all levels of University leadership.
