Job Summary Requisition Number: 29643 Job Title: PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION ANALYST Working Title: UCLA Center for Children's Oral Health, Program Analyst Salary: 23.04-45.54 Job Type: Contract Department Name: 1350-DENTISTRY Department Website URL: Job Summary Statement: Public Administrative Analyst will administer the UCLA Center for Children's Oral Health (UCCOH) under the supervision of the Program Director. The incumbent will collaborate with the Program Director to create with the Board a strategic plan for the Center and to organize and maintain a master calendar for high profiled meetings with donors and collaborative organization(s) as well as work with community partners in Los Angeles. He/She will establish goals and objectives for designated areas in Oral Health and children's age group 0-5 and develop strategies for fundraising, stewardship, cultivation and communications, while advocating for improved children's oral health. He/She will utilize their skills in writing in order to assist in the production of professional, clear and compelling proposals, policy briefings and other solicitation materials, acknowledgements, reports, public announcements, and routine business correspondence. The incumbent will be required to organize and file data obtained by any studies conducted by the center. Preferred Ability to establish productive working relationships with all levels of organization staff, funders, board members and volunteers; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Required Superior written and verbal communication skills to convey information with accuracy and diplomacy; excellent strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are required. Required Provide support for major gift fundraising initiatives by identifying prospective major gift donations as well as manage and oversee all marketing and fundraising mailings to support the annual fund and promote alumni and planned giving programs. Required General knowledge in preparing policy reports and ability to compile all documents required for the Center policy action. Required Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to relate and present a positive image to various publics. Required Demonstrated skill to manage and organize administrative and operational aspects effectively within a multifaceted, fast-paced office environment. Required Demonstrated skill to work independently, prioritize tasks, analyze needs, develop and implement solutions in a timely and effective manner. Required Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with staff, faculty, students, and interface with other departments. Required Demonstrated skill to prepare analytical documents that are concise, logical and grammatically correct. Required Demonstrated proficiency using a PC or Mac to perform word processing and database management projects with speed and accuracy using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new software programs and to instruct others when needed. Required Demonstrated oral and strong written communication skills to convey information and interact with personnel at all levels. Required Demonstrated strong skills in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence such as memoranda and standard letters to faculty, sections, and other University and community personnel. Required Skill in proofreading written materials and editing for correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Required Typing skills to quickly and accurately prepare correspondence and other University and community documents. Required Ability to maintain confidentiality of section communications and faculty and student files. Required Ability to perform duties in a walk-in office with many interruptions and heavy workloads. Required Ability to maintain consistent and punctual attendance. Required Basic mathematical skills and ability to recognize errors in computation. Required Excellent organizational skills and strategic planning skills. Required Availability to work needed hours to complete an assignment with a specific deadline. Required Ability to work independently and as a part of a team with flexibility, receiving multiple instructions within a limited time, under a heavy workload, with competing demands for information and services, in relatively short time span, with frequent interruptions, distractions, and changing priorities. Required Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments independently, while keeping track of ongoing project deadlines and following through on assigned tasks with minimal supervision in a timely manner. Required Master's degree in Public Health or related field from an accredited university. Preferred At least 3 years of grant writing, preparing policy reports, and advocating for health care or equivalent experience.
