Description:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nephrology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (CHNOLA), is seeking a full-time academic pediatric nephrologist at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to join our nephrology faculty group. Our group works closely with the pediatric nephrology division at the LSU Health Sciences sharing clinical pediatric nephrology services at CHNOLA. The position will be a non-tenure level position to commensurate with experience.

The Pediatric Nephrology service at CHNOLA offers a full range of nephrology services including all modalities of dialysis: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, pheresis and CRRT. Clinical responsibilities will include all aspects of pediatric nephrology, including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, expertise in renal replacement therapy (CRRT, PD, and acute hemodialysis) and management of kidney transplantation. Ample opportunity is available for scholarly activities and Translational Research. The Section of Pediatric Nephrology at Tulane has active NIH supported research programs that are focused on the molecular regulation of kidney development. The Section is also a participant in multiple NIH and national clinical trials focused on pediatric renal diseases.

The selected candidate will become actively involved in all aspects of teaching including training medical students and residents. Qualifications:

Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible to practice pediatric nephrology.
