Assist Student Life personnel with clerical tasks and special projects.
This is a 19½ hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Life. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Some scheduling could include weekend or evening hours to accommodate events on an as needed basis.
This position focuses on effective customer service, assistance in management of the Campus Center, event set up and implementation, and basic administrative support for the Office of Student Life and divisional staff.
• Serve as first point of contact for Campus Center and Office of Student Life visitors.
• Maintain high level of integrity when handling confidential information.
• Serve as resource to College of Coastal Georgia visitors for: campus events, directions, and Campus Center services.
• Answer phone calls as a representative of the College.
• Provide administrative support as requested (e.g. research, drafting memos, compiling notes, creating postings, copying, faxing, etc)
• Check messages regularly throughout shift to ensure that messages are returned within 1 business day.
• Serve as contact for Campus Center and Student Activity Center issues (e.g. facility, event set up, mail, lost and found).
• Serve as contact for student groups to check out equipment.
• Maintain audio-visual equipment including, but not limited to: Inventory, set up of equipment for meetings/films/speakers/events, addressing issues with equipment that arise.
• Assist in the set up/operation of events, programs and meetings as needed.
• Work as a team with other Student Assistants to maintain a seamless experience for visitors.
• Other duties as assigned
Training
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
• Must possess strong customer service and communication skills
• Must be dependable
• Must have knowledge of general office equipment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Demonstrates excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
• Ability to concurrently handle both co-/extra-curricular and curricular assignments
