Individual performs project oversight leading to project success. This oversight includes comprehensive responsibility for all stages of the project from project programming to project close out. Projects may include alteration and repair projects to existing university buildings or new building construction projects.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulatory agency guidelines as well as construction methods and construction administration.
Ability to communicate and effectively establish and maintain working relationships with university faculty and administrative personnel.
Project management including management of design professionals and contractors.
Requires sedentary desk work for computer related and administrative tasks. Regular on-site inspections requiring walking through active construction sites. Travel to active construction sites which may require some overnight stays. Willing to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Is driving required to perform essential duties outlined in this position? Individual performs project oversight leading to project success. This oversight includes comprehensive responsibility for all stages of the project from project programming to project close out. The employee oversees planning, budgeting, scheduling, designing, and constructing of assigned projects. Projects may include alteration and repair projects to existing university buildings or new building construction projects. Work requires construction site visits for OAC meetings as well as for overall project management. Professional communication with university department personnel, contractors, subcontractors and material and equipment vendors is a must. This position provides direction to the design professional and the contractor related to all facets of the project. In addition, the employee must evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate services & costs. The employee will prepare contracts and gather/prepare other information regarding program, design, final construction documents, equipment lists and construction administration for a number of projects which are at various stages of development.Percentage of time 100 Posting Specific Questions
