Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualificaitons.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience maintaining landscape grounds and equipment and working in outside adverse weather.

Position Summary

Under supervision this position will provide assistance with maintenance of the grounds on the UGA Griffin Campus. Work includes planting flower beds and shrubs and trees; mowing grass; spraying pesticides; trimming shrubs and other jobs as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Must be able to follow instructions and and have some work experience with grounds maintenance and maintenance equipment.

Physical Demands

Working outside under adverse weather conditions; heavy lifting; digging; stooping; squatting; walking, climbing, hands above head; proper use and operations of landscape equipment.

Is driving required to perform essential duties outlined in this position? (This does not include infrequent trips) The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's license when offered employment.
