Job Summary

Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) in Americus, GA seeks an Assistant Professor in Accounting to teach a variety of accounting courses in our AACSB-accredited School of Business Administration, beginning August 2019. This is a full-time, tenure track position.

Candidates in all specialty areas of accounting will be considered. Qualified candidates must possess the demonstrated ability to teach upper-level undergraduate and graduate (masters) accounting courses,including both traditional and online courses.A successful candidate will be expected to pursue cross-functional, integrative curriculum development and incorporate a pedagogical approach which involves students in learning through high levels of engagement.

Mentoring and advising students is integral to the mission of the School of Business and our philosophy of student-centric education. In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in the School of Business as an active participant in School activities such as committees and faculty meetings.

Required Qualifications
    A terminal degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university is required, but ABD candidates near completion may be considered.Professional certification (CPA or CMA) and experience in the field are strongly preferred.Teaching experience is required.Maintain competence in academic discipline through research and professional activities.
