The Special Events Manager will be the primary contact for planning of small to medium sized internal events. Due to the cyclical nature of the department’s business, staff members are required to work varying schedules to support the department’s overall business needs. This role is responsible for event execution and also for educating and training event staff (students) on all aspects of planning and executing an event to provide real world experience.


Effectively support the department’s mission while modeling and maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism. Complete the staffing, setup and operation/execution of the event and also manage and work securely with the client and team. Approach all encounters with clients, guests, students and staff in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Comply with all college and department policies and regulations. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working. Effective in listening, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by director, students, clients and others.

Your Competencies:

3-5 years event or lead banquet experience required. 3-5 years direct customer service experience required. BASSET preferred. ServeSafe Food Sanitation Certification preferred. Bachelors Degree required. Some travel required, ability to work evenings and weekends as requested or required.
