The HRIS Systems Coordinator is a specialist supporting the HRIS system; analyzes, tests, implements, documents and maintains computer system applications; provides technical support to end users for applications; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Reporting to the Director of HRIS, the Systems Coordinator supports the implementation of HRIS through analysis, development, design and testing activities. This position provides functional and technical expertise to take full advantage of the ERP system, self-service systems, and other related applications to meet the business needs and requirements. As an HRIS team member, the position contributes to process improvement, data integrity, and testing efforts. At times, lead aspects of technical projects.

The coordinator leverages strong analytical and sound decision making skills in managing the day-to-day operations and various processes of the HR operations function. Responsible for ensuring processes are efficient and user-friendly. Promptly, resolves any issues related to transactions or data. The incumbent participates in projects related to the HRM system and leads user acceptance testing. This role utilizes exceptional customer service skills and builds and maintains relationships with key constituents across the university.

The Systems Coordinator must develop and maintain strong professional relationships with all HR groups, ITS, Institutional Research, and the greater university community. These relationships are critical in order for the Systems Coordinator to act as a liaison between end users and technical resources to resolve daily production issues, develop enhancements, and implement new processes and systems. The Systems Coordinator ensures the integrity of the data and is responsible for automating and enhancing business processes to make Human Resource more efficient and effective.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

Demonstrated experience working in an enterprise resource planning environment or other HRIS/HRMS position

Knowledge of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools

Strong knowledge of MS Office with advanced skill in Excel required including the ability to perform v-lookups, create charts and create pivot tables

Demonstrated project and time management skills

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong sense of initiative and urgency

Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines

Strong experience in Microsoft Office

Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new and upgraded systems

Ability to write reports in SSRS

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Strong understanding of HR business processes

Ability to provide timely and positive customer service

Ability to participate and collaborate in HR cross functional projects and activities

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Three years of experience working in an HR department within higher education

Demonstrated experience in maintaining data

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position
