Job Summary:Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration, the Executive Director - Research Protections has primary responsibility for managing and administering research protocol review services provided by, and research protection and compliance activities conducted by, the Research Administration (RA) unit in the Office of Research (OR). Responsibilities include: Comprehensive management of the Research Protections Team (~21 FTE); functioning as an integral part of the RA Management Team; directing the development and coordination of research compliance programs and educational initiatives; developing and implementing unit strategic plans; directing the development and implementation of research protections information systems and tools in collaboration with the Electronic Research Administration unit and Office of Information Technology; building/maintaining positive relations with internal/external clients and UCI partner offices; and participating in the planning, development and delivery of campus-wide training initiatives. This position serves as an institutional expert for interpreting, explaining and applying laws, regulations, statutes and policies related to research protections and compliance. The Executive Director is responsible for conducting high-level research regulation and policy analysis, and developing and implementing campus policy and procedures that add value to the UCI research enterprise.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
