The Director of Academic Services assists with the day-to-day operations of the Academic Services office. This position will coordinate all aspects of academic support services for student-athletes in assigned sports. Areas of focus will include but are not limited to: academic advising for continuing eligibility, initial eligibility, tutorial support, study hall, academic monitoring, academic reporting, APR, and creation of graduation plans. The Director must maintain knowledge of all NCAA rules and regulations related to academic support and eligibility. Additional duties within the department may be assigned.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline is required.
• Full-time professional experience in an academic support office in intercollegiate athletics department or related area of higher education administration (e.g. student affairs, counseling).
• Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and strong presentation skills with the ability to present clear and accurate information
• Ability to manage work load and meet deadlines and make decisions within prescribed scope of authority.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong familiarity with, understanding of, and practical experience with major issues concerning student-athlete well being and conduct, academic enhancement and performance, and the role of and relationship between intercollegiate athletics and higher education.
• Several years full-time professional experience in in an academic support office in intercollegiate NCAA Division I athletics department.
• Master’s degree in sport management, sport administration, education, psychology or similar field preferred.
• Experience as a student-athlete or working with student-athletes.
• Experience with study hall management.
• Experience with tutor management.

Conditions of Employment:• Ability to travel and attend competitions at night and on weekends when required.
• Evening, weekend and work outside of normal duty hours required, mostly during academic year.
This is a restricted position subject to availability of funding.
