Together with the Manager of Operations & Administrative Services, the Executive Assistant (EA) aides the Dean’s priorities through tasks related to scheduling, administrative & operational support, such as meeting prep, travel, faculty committee support & special projects. http://rpijobs.rpi.edu/postings/7816

Minimum Qualifications

•Associate’s Degree
•Three (3) or more years of directly related experience
•OR
•Five (5) years of directly related work experience may be substituted

Preferred Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with a diverse population in a professional manner
•Ability to operate a personal computer; proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn enterprise specific software (i.e., Brio, Banner) as well as proficiency in Adobe Programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
•Advanced level of computer software expertise
•Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
•Ability to perform basic financial functions; knowledge of budget processes
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
•Strict attention to detail
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Ability to compose correspondence and reports as well as the ability to research data and formulate into a report for executive decision making
•Ability to maintain confidentiality

The Executive Assistant provides executive level and substantive administrative support to the Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. The incumbent works in close association with the Manager of Administrative and Operations Services to provide the Dean, the faculty, and staff with the support needed to manage priorities and resolve issues as they relate to the Dean’s Office. The incumbent must demonstrate a high level of customer service in interacting with both internal and external constituents, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as, project management skills. The incumbent is expected to resolve administrative, operational, and scheduling issues as well as exercise a high degree of independent judgment and professional discretion daily. In addition, the Executive Assistant will facilitate the functions of the office, handle all purchases, reimbursements and travel arrangements for the Dean and the Dean’s office Professional staff. The Executive Assistant also manages a variety of special projects for the Dean.
