Chief Admissions Officers serve as the top admissions officer either for undergraduate or graduate students in a school or unit and direct the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of students seeking entrance to the institution. Chief Admissions Officers exercise leadership and final decision-making authority over admissions strategies, finances, staff, operations of their respective operations and final review and approval of applicants to the University or school.

  • The University of Virginia's College at Wise (UVa-Wise) is currently seeking a Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. Title is based on experience. UVa-Wise, a division of the University of Virginia, is a nationally ranked four-year undergraduate, public liberal arts college located in the scenic mountains of Southwest Virginia that offers 31 majors, 37 minors, and 17
    teaching licensures.

    Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the VC/Associate VC for Enrollment Management will utilize current trends, best practices and previous experience to target and grow UVa-Wise's student body.

    The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree; a minimum of five years of leadership experience in
    enrollment management with proven success in setting and meeting enrollment goals; and a knowledge of current best practices and trends in enrollment management. Duties will include developing a strategic enrollment management plan, broadening the visibility of the College and leveraging branding and new media marketing strategies; and administration of the Office of Enrollment Management while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, university and College policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
