Substitute Teacher at The Children's School
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in providing care for children ranging in age from two to five years.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members in a classroom setting and with children individually, in small groups, and in the whole group.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position.
The successful candidate will also be able to perform the following essential functions:

Associate’s degree or a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are required to meet state licensing criteria.
Classroom experience with preschool children is required. Experience in a developmental program is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Individual must possess knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge skills and abilities.
- Ability to walk stand and engage actively with children for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and the families in our school
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff members.
The regular hours for this position are as needed Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours will vary due to the needs of the College or department.
CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:
This is an on-call, non-exempt, non-benefits eligible position.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

BACKGROUND CHECK: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a full consumer background check. Certain positions will require the successful completion of a post-offer physical agility test. Employment is contingent on the satisfactory results of the aforementioned, in addition to compliance with requirements cited in this job description.
OTHER: The successful candidate will be required to present Livescan Criminal Background Clearance.
