Senior Development OfficerAdvancement, Major Gifts - Med School

Summary

The Senior Development Officer, School of Medicine, is a professional fund-raising position reporting to the Senior Director of Development, School of Medicine.  The position will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of major gift prospects with an emphasis on the School of Medicine's strategic priorities and objectives. The Senior Development Officer will work closely with School leadership such as the SOM Dean, the SOM Executive Faculty and departmental section chiefs. The position will also work closely with other departments within the Office of Development including Gift Planning, Stewardship, Corporate & Foundation Relations, and Development Services as well as Alumni Affairs and other external affairs departments throughout the University. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years' direct fund-raising or related experience in the solicitation and closing of major and multi-year annual gifts in a research university environment preferred. Transferable, related experience such as marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales may be considered

OR

• High school diploma or equivalent and 9 years' directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a research university environment, specifically school based experience
• Commitment to the values of an institution of higher education
• Ability to articulate and represent the mission and vision of Tulane University
• Knowledge of various software systems, such as Word, Excel, and a prospect management database
