Verifiable experience with and knowledge of business telephone etiquette;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in writing;
Attention to detail;
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a variety of work activities;
Experience working as part of a team;
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with personal computer software
programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
High school diploma or GED;
Available and willing to work extra and/or irregular hours or days during peak work
periods to include weekends and nights;
Prior office work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

General knowledge of Texas State University and admission requirements;
Prior college admissions work experience;
College course work or degree;
Demonstrated ability to read and understand high school and college transcripts;
Experience working with reports or excel worksheets;
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with student information systems
software (Banner or equivalent product);
Bilingual (English-Spanish).

Job Description

Responsibilities include processing applications and other documents from prospective
undergraduate students to determine admission status.

Job Duties

Process applications, transcripts, test scores and other credentials for admission from
prospective undergraduate students and determine admission status. Match
admission credentials to files and update status in computer. Prepare applications for
processing and admission decisions. Make admission decisions. Answer telephone
for processing area. Explain admission policies and procedures by telephone, by
email, in person and by mail to prospective students
and others. This position is responsible for reviewing applications and transcripts
(high school and college). Assist with daily correspondence to incomplete applicants.
Respond to inquiries of both internal and external customers by mail, email, and
phone. Scan, upload, and index documents; ensure accuracy of work. Assist with
other admission activities as needed.
