PT Audio Visual Support Spec
DescriptionThe Part-Time AV SupportSpecialist will be a member of the Fox AV IT department. This department isresponsible for supporting classrooms, conference rooms, breakout rooms, eventspaces and the various technologies in Alter and Speakman Hall. The PT Audio VisualSupport Specialist will be required to work approximately 24 hours / week from4:30 pm to 9:15 pm and may be required to come in on weekends if studentsupport is not available for an event. The incumbent will assist theAudiovisual Manager in supervising a team of student workers who provide AVtechnical support for all audiovisual and information technology needs forthese spaces and will be responsible for providing excellent and professionalcustomer service in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities will includebut not be limited to: opening the AV facilities, setups, preventativemaintenance, equipment installations and monitoring, daily room checks andhands-on troubleshooting. The ideal candidate possesses a high level oftechnical ability, and will work closely with the AV Manager and Fox IT Team.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education &Experience:Associate’s degree andat least 1 year directly related AV experience. Experience should alsoinclude supervising the work of others, AV switchers like Extron used in theclassroom for input source switching, and setup and use of wirelessmicrophones. An equivalent combination of education and experience may beconsidered. Required Skills &Abilities:* Familiarity with theuse of AV control systems like AMX used in the classrooms. * Demonstratedunderstanding of audio digital signal processors like Clearone used in theclassroom for audio distribution.* Strong workingknowledge of projectors and displays.* Ability to setup andwork with WebEx conferencing.* Understanding ofinstructional technologies and audiovisual design for trouble shootingpurposes.* Strong customerservice orientation.* Demonstrated verbaland written communication skills along with the ability to effectivelycommunicate with a diverse group of individuals.* Demonstrated knowledgeof general computer applications (Microsoft Office 2016, Google Apps, and Webconferencing).* Ability to workassigned part-time shift and some weekends or additional hours, if necessary.* Ability to lift andmove equipment and boxes that could weigh up to 50 pounds.* Ability to workpart-time M-F 24 hours / week from 4:30 pm to 9:15 pm.
