The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bucknell University seeks applicants for two one-year visiting assistant professor positions starting in August 2019, with primary teaching responsibilities in the areas of water resources or structural engineering/engineering mechanics. These positions are available as a result of a leave replacement, with possible reappointment pending Administrative approval. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related engineering field, at time of appointment.

• Articulate your plans to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction in core water resources and fluid mechanics courses or structural engineering and engineering mechanics courses;
• Describe how you will be able to contribute more broadly to the civil engineering curriculum by:
• teaching core civil engineering courses, such as engineering graphics, material science, or project management
• teaching courses in other disciplines, such as geotechnical or transportation engineering

The Community
