Duties of a TH Medical Radiographer III in the Radiology Diagnostic Department mayinclude the following but are not limited to:
BriefDescription of Duties:
· Produces diagnostic exams, positions and transfers patients,provides immobilization devices, selects proper technical factors on anindividual patient basis, selects and operates equipment.
· Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards,assisting physicians in administering opaque media, responsible for delegatingareas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures, may beresponsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of technology andancillary personnel.
· In absence of supervisor or senior technologist, may be designatedas acting supervisor.
· Assists in performing first aid, as necessary, practices steriletechniques and prevents cross-contamination.
· May conduct periodic quality control tests, will participate orconduct research in required specialty.
· Will be required to teach radiology students or specialty.
· Will be required to teach radiology students or appropriatehospital personnel established procedures and operation of equipment, in accordancewith the guidelines and teaching objectives of the department.
Required Qualifications:, Must be a graduate from a Radiology Technology Program with a New York State Department Of Health License in Diagnostic Radiology Technology and ARRT Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. In order to process to a higher modality, candidate must obtain IV Contrast Injection Certification within the 12 month probationary period.
Preferred Qualifications: Hospital experience.
Special Note: Per-Diem Position; variable hours, includes weekends and holidays.
