Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Financial Aid.

Primary Job Duties: Manage all aspects of the University’s financial aid budget, including institutional, state, federal, and SU Foundation funds applied to student accounts. This position directs the financial aid staff, assigns tasks, ensures financial aid compliance, produces institutional-level reporting, manages the University’s four-year financial aid model to best apply more than $8M in institutional aid. The director is a key member of the Enrollment Management leadership team, helping to create packaging models in consultation with the University’s consultants, creating and managing packaging policies, and forecasting aid expenditures. Position also works on multiple strategic enrollment committees and collaborates across campus with departments and divisions to support University enrollment and retention and to ensure effective use of scholarship funds.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education or a related field. If a Bachelor’s, a minimum of seven years of related work experience. If a Master’s, a minimum of five years of related work experience.

Progressive Financial Aid Office leadership experience to include: strategic projection and policy implementation, day-to-day managing of a large budget, supervising staff working with consultants, completing critical annual reports for financial aid compliance, and compliance with state/federal regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel to manage complex project, databases, and multiple accounts. Experience completing critical annual reports for financial aid compliance. Must be able to stay up-to-date on state and federal financial aid policy changes and interpret their impact on a financial aid operation.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment.

This is a full-time, exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
