Job Description

POSITION TITLE:SPECIALIST, Sports Information SPATHL-SPEC01
STATUS:Part time
DEPARTMENT:Athletics
DIVISION:Student Development
CLASSIFICATION:Non-exempt
UNION:Support and Technical
REPORTS TO:Director of Athletics
PLACEMENT: Support staff grade 6
MINIMUM PAY RATE:$18.22 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Sports Information Specialist is to assist the Director of Athletics with the management of the Athletic Department including planning and coordination of all athletic activities on campus. The main duties of this position will include online coordination with the NJCAA and N4C with coaching and player information.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Update JJC Athletics web page with schedules, rosters, scores, recaps, stats, photos.
2.Input schedules, rosters, and game stats into Presto Sports software per NJCAA regulations.
3.Update athletic social media pages with results and events.
4.Keep game stats for soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, and softball games.
5.Assist with all multimedia aspects of the video scorer’s table for volleyball and basketball games.
6.Coordinate and schedule all athletic photos (head shots, team photos, action shots, and photo sessions).
7.Process game programs for volleyball, basketball, and wrestling home events.
8.Organize three athletic media guides (fall, winter, spring). This includes writing previews, coaching bios, player bios.
9.Keep track of media advertisements for scoreboards, score table, and yearly media guides.
10.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
2.Experience in a collegiate or professional media relations environment.
3.Demonstrates organizational skills and working knowledge of print media, media relations, statistical software, social media, video broadcasts, and photography.
4.Valid Driver’s License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Experience working with Gamechanger, SideArm, Stat Crew and Presto Sports software, video streaming editing software, and all Microsoft Office programs.
2.Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work cooperatively with a diverse population.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1.Normal office physical demands.
2.Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
3.Ability to travel in state and nationally.

WORK SCHEDULE
25 hours per week

WORKING CONDITIONS
1.Duties are performed indoors daily.
