Description:
The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics invites applications for a faculty position in applied statistics/data analytics. This faculty member will primarily teach in the M.S. in Applied Statistics and Analytics program and will assist with instruction at the undergraduate level. The opportunity also exists to serve as program director for the master’s program. Currently, the department has 11 full-time faculty members. In addition to the master’s program, the department has an undergraduate minor in applied statistics and offers several general education courses including Introduction to Statistics.
Responsibilities:
Teach courses, develop new courses and possibly direct programs in statistics or related fields, maintain an active research program involving students, mentor and advise students, and participate in department and university affairs. Engage in ongoing professional development (e.g., seminars and conferences) to stay current with cutting-edge methodologies.
Level: Assistant or Associate Professor
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in statistics or a related discipline OR an M.S. with substantial professional experience in statistics or analytics.Emphasis in biostatistics preferred.Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.An interest in helping students to integrate their faith and their studies.
Experience:
All candidates should have experience teaching statistics at the university level OR substantial professional experience in statistics or analytics. Candidates interested in directing the master’s program should have demonstrated leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have an active research program and relevant experience which could lead to the establishment of industry, government, or health care organization partners.
Workload: Full-time of 24-units preferred, but part-time options are available.
