Position Summary:
Health Services. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Certified Medical Assistant assists clinical/clerical staff in the examination and treatment of students for outpatient medical care and counsels patients on various health-related topics. This is a ten month position from August 1 - May 31.
Essential Functions

  • Measures vital signs, prepares and performs hearing and vision tests and performs other assessments as needed.
  • Prepares patients for exam and assists clinicians in the examination and treatment of students for outpatient medical care.
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications as directed by the provider.
  • Initiates electronic chart forms, completes lab requests, schedules patient appointments and obtains health histories.
  • Provides supporting clerical functions to facilitate patient flow and inputs patient information into the Medical Management Information System.
  • Assists with completion and notification of follow-up care.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and medicines.

    High school diploma or equivalent; diploma from an approved medical assisting program; CPR certification

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation and urinalysis prior to employment.

    Salary Range: $21,128 - $26,422 (10 Month Annually)
