Job Description

The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University invites teacher-scholars to apply for the non-tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting in the fall of 2019. The Bolte School is searching for a new faculty member who will advance academic programs in Management and Organizational Behavior and will give preference to candidates with business experience and academic expertise in the areas of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in related discipline (ABDs near completion will be considered) and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service to the campus community.

The new faculty member will teach in the Bolte School’s traditional undergraduate, adult undergraduate, and graduate programs at both the university’s Emmitsburg and Frederick campuses. The Bolte School is dedicated to providing graduates with a solid foundation in analysis and ethical decision-making using a variety of interactive techniques such as cases, simulations, and other experiential learning activities. The faculty member may also contribute to the Mount’s common education experience by teaching the Freshman Core Symposium (Being Human: The Catholic Liberal Arts Symposium). Successful candidates will share our commitment to the dignity and solidarity of all persons and the value of intercultural understanding.

Mount St. Mary’s University, the second oldest Catholic university in America, seeks faculty members eager to engage and support our Catholic identity. Application materials should discuss how you might contribute to the university’s Catholic liberal arts mission, how your work engages with the Catholic intellectual tradition, or how your own faith tradition informs your vocation as teacher and scholar.
