Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Counseling Program at UNT seeks a faculty member with a demonstrated record of strength in research, leadership, and teaching to support the program's scholarly, professional, and academic initiatives. This position will contribute to the program, college, and university's commitment to maintain excellence at the national level. The individual selected will serve a nine-month, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall semester 2019. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Part-time summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (1) pursuing a focused line of research leading to publications in refereed journals and to extramural funding; (2) teaching two [2] courses each semester in CACREP core and counseling specialty areas; (3) serving on doctoral committees and advising/mentoring students; (4) providing clinical supervision to master's and doctoral level students; (5) working with faculty members in the Counseling Program and with those centers, institutes, and clinics affiliated with the Program to maintain and enhance the Program's national stature; and (6) participating actively in professional organizations and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a doctorate in counseling or counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program by start of employment and must be licensure-eligible as a Professional Counselor in Texas. A record of effective research, publication, professional activity, teaching, and clinical supervision is expected.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include (1) preparation to contribute to the Counseling Program's national reputation through demonstrated leadership in one or more clinical mental health specialty areas such as couple and family counseling, addictions counseling, spiritual/transpersonal counseling, research methods, counseling theory, and human development, and (2) licensure as a Professional Counselor.
