Job Details

Clarion University is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Counselor for University Counseling Services.  Responsibilities include completing intake assessments and develop individualized counseling strategies for university students; providing individual, group, and couples counseling and assessment; informing the Clinical Supervisor of any difficulties relating to treatment issues, concerns around student safety, procedural, patient satisfaction, and other departmental or public relations concerns; works with the Director of Wellness to develop and implement annual goals, assessment, and objectives for the Counseling Center and wellness initiatives; complete all required documentation in a timely and professional manner; conduct suicide assessments and interventions; develop and conduct outreach programming and facilitate groups; administer various psychological inventories, including ADHD testing, depression/anxiety screening, and career inventories; conduct campus wide screenings for depression, alcohol use/abuse, and eating disorders; make referrals and collaborate with internal and external service providers as needed; provide consultation as necessary to internal and external service providers as needed; participate in regular supervision sessions, as well as case consultation counseling center staff; and other duties assigned by the Clinical Supervisor of Counseling Services and the Director of the Center for Wellness. Position subject to the availability of funding.

Required qualifications include a Masters Degree from an accredited university in counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field; One academic year experience in a college counseling center; PA license or PA license eligible within one year. and completion of a successful interview.
