Innovation and Entrepreneurship Engagement Specialist

Job Description:

  • Develop digital media strategy to engage the Furman community and beyond in the innovation and entrepreneurship space.
  • Coordinate with influencers on content creation, review and publishing of thought leadership/content across key social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc.)
  • Manage digital media calendar, creative, and budget
  • Grow engagement to position Furman's thought leaders in the entrepreneurship and innovation space
  • Create monthly email communication newsletter to inform the Furman community on all programs, initiatives, and recognitions in the innovation and entrepreneurship space.
  • Coordinate content creation and delivery each month
  • Champion the planning, coordination, launch and delivery of a podcast series to drive awareness and engagement of the entrepreneurship community on campus and beyond. Assists with coordination and logistics for events
  • Assists with student organizations, camps, events, and programs.
  • Serves as liaison and point person to the Furman University Communications and Marketing department for marketing collateral.
  • Assist with supervision of some office interns.
  • Pursues professional development to keep pace with demands for services and information; including maintaining up to date information about the department and university.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years relevant experience
  • At least one year's experience coordinating complex events
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Experience in office software, including word processing and spreadsheets required
  • Solid experience with building engagement through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications (past work samples required).
  • SEO optimized writing background.
  • Knowledge on managing and creating a blog.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills (samples required).
  • Proven record of running successful digital campaigns.
  • Experience creating compelling social media content.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to independently manage priorities.
  • Ability to work with staff across all organizational programs.
  • Positive, energetic, personable, and respectful of others.
