Department Bioengineering Position Details

Position Description

The Department of Bioengineering is currently accepting applications for Lecturer for Capstone Design, with the opportunity to create a new lecture or laboratory course. The position will require a full-time focus on design, laboratory, and classroom teaching and will begin no later than August 2018. The Lecturer position is targeted for experienced instructors, but all applications will be considered.

Education Required PhD or other Doctoral Degree Specify Concentration / Degree Type Education Preferred

PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other closely related engineering discipline

Other Required Qualifications

Experience with classroom or lab class teaching at the university level; teaching experience in an undergraduate engineering program; candidate should have done coursework/research in instrumentation, mechanics, and engineering design; strong communication and organizational skills

Other Qualifications Preferred

- Experience Preferred: Teaching certificate; coursework in engineering design; coursework in regulatory issues for medical devices and other healthcare products; mentoring design teams.
- Skills Preferred: Ideal candidate will have a strong interested in working with the undergraduate community and contributing to undergraduate advising.
