(Contingent upon available funding): 0.00 - 0.00, Commensurate Work Schedule: Typically 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: This position is a Tenure Track position.
The duties of an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry on Tenure Track include teaching, research/scholarship, service/outreach, and administration. The teaching duties of an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry include participating in team teaching medical biochemistry to medical and graduate students and teaching graduate courses as needed. The Assistant Professor of Biochemistry must be a team player.
Research/scholarship is also expected and may include, but not limited to, developing an independent research laboratory, mentoring graduate and medical students, publishing peer- reviewed articles, being an active member in their professional society, and obtain extramural funding.
The Assistant Professor is further expected to actively participate in service/outreach activities, and to serve on or lead (chair) committees at the departmental level as well as campus-wide. Participation on local, state, regional, or national committees is expected as well. Activities that support outreach are encouraged. Administrative duties may include supervising graduate students, laboratory technicians, or other staff members.
Special Instructions to Applicants Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required:
-Doctoral degree
-Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of eukaryote biochemistry, and expertise in nucleic acids, molecular biology of eukaryotes, and molecular neuroscience
-Postdoctoral research experience in biochemistry and molecular biology of eukaryote (preferably with an emphasis in molecular neuroscience) Oklahoma State University (OSU) strives to provide a safe study, work, and living environment for its faculty, staff, volunteers and students.
