Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of IT Help Desk Assistant/Trainer.
Be part of a team responsible for providing first-level technical assistance and training for the campus community. Using the college’s IT ticketing system, you will create, manage, and complete service tickets. Provide individual and group training on the college’s student information system. Serve as a resource and trainer for Microsoft Office applications. Collaboratively identify practice and process changes that could assist in providing optimal customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent customer service, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of currently supported Windows operating systems, and Windows compatible hardware and peripherals.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Windows applications.
- Technology training experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to break down complicated concepts into simple content for a variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a trainer or teacher.
- Experience working in an academic setting.
- Experience working in a service desk support position.
- Familiarity with application software and systems commonly used in higher education (e.g., Banner, Blackboard).
- Familiarity with and knowledge of currently supported Mac OS X operating systems.
- Demonstrated interest in learning about emerging technologies.
