Job Description:

Responsible for accounts payable functions of the College on a daily basis Confers with agency personnel and outside agencies by telephone, in writing or in person to resolve accounting discrepancies and/or obtain data and documentation for payments .Receiving checks and money orders from certain departments and depositing them to the bank remotely on a weekly basis. Any other accounting work assigned by the Comptroller/ Assistant Comptroller.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing. An Associate's degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and record keeping for audit purposes.
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a productive team member in a multi-tasked, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines and respond to requests for data in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in relational database system such as Colleague by Ellucian

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,764.38/bi-weekly
