This position is responsible for implementation of the University’s recruitment and employment program for all University Positions with an emphasis on SHRA and EHRA non-faculty positions. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 1) Implements the University recruitment and employment program in accordance with federal, state and WCU policies and procedures for all University employees. 2) Edits and writes where necessary posting and position description language, position justifications ensuring an affirmative search and appointment letters. 3) Develops and maintains quarterly reports related to the employment unit performance using a variety of metrics. This position will function at the Journey Competency Level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

To succeed in this position the following knowledge, skills and abilities are required:
-Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge related to employment procedures, laws and policies that govern the recruitment of SHRA, EHRA non-faculty and faculty, temporary and hourly positions.
-Exemplifies extraordinary customer service standards with diverse populations while presenting information in accordance with department and institution strategic goals, and HR best practices. -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative work relationships with HR team members, academic and non-academic departments across campus. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Experience with web-based information systems required. Maintains awareness of current and emerging technologies which could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HR data management with other business systems. -Capable of working independently in a deadline driven atmosphere.
-Skilled in organization and prioritization of multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment with many interruptions. -Ability to show initiative and express ideas clearly and concisely.
-Requires high standard of motivation, confidentiality and ethical behavior.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with NC State employment system. HR certification.

Anticipated Hiring Range $48,000 - $50,000 Position Type Permanent Full-Time Number of Hours per Week 40 Number of Months per Year 12 Salary Band Range $39,622 - $87,020 Salary Grade For administrative purposes during the implementation of Career Banding this ­­­­­­­­Journey level position is considered a Salary Grade 72.
