Summary:

Manages the daily operations of the Professional Development Center (PDC) and the Campus Engagement Team. Develops and delivers some online, group, and individual training and instruction on a wide-variety of topics including, but not limited to, Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of PDC including administering and maintaining online registration program for training and development, problem-solving with constituents regarding registration/class needs, and answering general questions.
  • Provides administrative support to the Campus Engagement Team regarding policy updates, compliance and Workday tasks.
  • Develops and distributes PDC newsletter and updates information on the PDC website.
  • Performs administrative functions, such as scheduling training sessions, preparing materials and training rooms, ensuring availability of supplies and materials.
  • Plans, designs, and delivers online, group, and individual training and instruction covering specific areas such as those concerned with Workday HCM.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Researches, recommends, and maintains relationships with external vendors to ensure training goals and objectives are met.
  • Manages all PDC expenses in Workday and maintains operating budget.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Online and in-person curriculum development and delivery experience required.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. with several years of related experience.
  • Ability to interpret and advise on the application of governmental and University policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel), the internet, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to present and display professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to manage a budget and reconcile accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills with ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to maintain effective customer relations.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business-related field.
  • PHR, SHRM certifications preferred.
  • Experience using Workday.
  • Experience in a higher education environment preferred.

  • Responsible for own work.
  • Work requires contact with staff, faculty, and vendors.
  • Accountable for maintaining the security and confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information or data in any medium regarding the university or its students, faculty, or staff. Accessing or disclosing such information or data must be deemed necessary for the performance of one’s job responsibilities and must be authorized by the employee’s supervisor.
