Job Summary

Primary responsibility: Serve as prenursing and nursing student transition and success liasion and teach in prenursing and nursing courses. The faculty member will engage in intentional strategies with prenursing freshmen and sophomores as they prepare for successful entry into nursing program. Job responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring prenursing students enrolled in orientation courses during the first year of university study, mentoring these students as they prepare to apply for formal application to the program, offering specialty classes such as critical thinking development and professional preparation seminars, and assisting students in obtaining needed campus resources. The faculty member will provide mandatory supplemental instruction to nursing sudents during their first year of studies after program entry. Additional responsibilities may include engagement in meaningful service and scholarship, with the exact mix of responsibilities dependent upon level of appointment and in accordance with the mission of GSW and the School of Nursing. Doctorate degree required for consideration of appointment to tenure track position. This is a 12 month faculty position beginning August 1, 2019

Required Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Current unencumbered licenses as a RN in Georgia
  • Recent experience in nursing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent experiences in adult acute care
  • Doctorate in nursing
  • Experience in nursing education
