General Description (Purpose and Function):

The Director of Football Recruiting is responsible for assisting the Head Football coach and Football recruiting coordinator with the organization and execution of all recruiting activities. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist Head Coach and football recruiting coordinator in oversight and management of all recruiting activities.  Implement the general strategic plan of recruiting department as instructed be Head Football Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. 

Oversee the football recruiting budget, meeting regularly with the Head Coach and Deputy Athletic Director regarding budget.

Oversee all recruiting department personnel.

Serve as football on campus representative on nights, weekends or holidays when coaches may not be present. 

Guide the direction of recruiting plans, including coordination with head coach and assistant coaches on daily recruiting plans / schedules.

Oversee the maintenance of recruiting board in staff meeting room. 

Oversee the direction of staff on social networking plan. 

Responsible for the organization and execution of all official visits, including:  Oversee coordination of player hosts.  Act as a liaison for all necessary pieces to a recruiting visit (academics, professors, campus tours, transportation, tickets, etc.).  Facilitate meetings between head coach, position coach and prospect. 

Responsible for the organization and execution of all unofficial visits, including: Facilitate meetings between head coach, assistant coaches and prospect.  Monitor during games.  Oversee the organization of tickets. 

Serve as liaison to Compliance Office for National Letter of Intent Process. Insure that the NLI’s are prepared correctly and sent in the appropriate time frame. Work with coaches to get admissions applications returned and NCAA Eligibility items completed in a timely manner to facilitate final NCAA Eligibility Center certification on all student-athletes. Coordinate permissible correspondence to incoming student-athletes regarding financial aid, workout programs, orientation schedules, fall housing requirements, required physical documentation and equipment needs.

Coordinate all needs surrounding walk-on student-athletes.  Manage the preferred walk-on program.

Oversee the downloading and entering of recruiting film.  Offer direction and guidance on the recruiting highlight film. 

Order necessary recruiting service material.  Coordinate copying and distribution of recruiting materials to appropriate coaches. 

Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental rules.

All other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach, Football Recruiting Coordinator or the Deputy Athletic Director.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
  • Bachelors degree in a related field, masters degree preferred. 

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):
  • Two years of previous experience working in football recruiting department is preferred.
