Lead Systems Architect Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201807292642 Full Time 8AM - 5PM Commensurate with Experience Position Information UC Riverside Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is searching for a Lead Systems Architect. The successful candidate in this role will have the opportunity to be involved in a host of really exciting projects including being involved in our cloud strategy, designing new standards as part of our datacenter consolidation and hardware refresh. If you have a desire to create new things, research leading technology and be at the seat for every major technology decision, this role is for you. Experience Experience Requirement Minimum of 8 years of related experience. Required Demonstrated experience designing systems to meet business continuity and disaster recover (BCDR) requirements. Required Experience working with automation tools to automate infrastructure deployments and management. Required Demonstrated experience architecting technical solutions on a cloud platform such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure. Required
Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Must pass a background check. Required Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. Required
Minimum Requirements Knowledge of software, database, infrastructure or other IT function. Knowledge relating to the design and development of software across the organization.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of other related areas of IT. Ability to apply department processes and procedures to work.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Experience with the integration of complex, diverse, internally and externally developed implementations of business functions to build scalable systems.
Ability to understand business needs and how business systems can support those needs.
May require skills in web software, web software language and object oriented software concepts. May require knowledge of network protocols and how they are used on a large (campus/medical center/OP-wide, institution-wide or beyond) network. May require advanced knowledge of data storage, processing analysis and visualization technologies and how they are used in administrative and/or academic endeavors at a large, top-tier research university or medical center.

Understanding of and experience with key modeling and description languages used to map complex business processes to architectural components, develop common data resource architectures, and create reference frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions. Expertise relating to the design and development of software across the organization.
Demonstrated ability to design systems solutions for the public cloud (Amazon Web Services or Azure).
Understanding of current trends in systems design.
Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues.
Demonstrated ability to design systems standards.
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
