The Associate Dean for Practice and Entrepreneurship serves as the executive Nurse Practitioner to launch a new nursing faculty practice for the College; plans, develops, leads, directs and manages faculty clinical practice sites focused on employee wellness and the prevention and management of chronic conditions, including regular, evidence-based screenings and health promotion and education, provided by a care team that integrates mental health services to improve health outcomes with the inclusion of telehealth as a means for care delivery; assesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients; formulates treatment plans; prescribes medication and traditional and nontraditional therapy based on evidence; evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement in the delivery of care; maintains provision of preventive health services for patients (screening, risks assessment, immunizations, etc.); maintains appropriate clinical support staff levels; collaborates with College of Nursing colleagues, such as Buckeye Wellness and Million Hearts colleagues, and partners with external organizations for the development, proposal and execution of current and new clinical opportunities to provide employee wellness and chronic disease prevention and management programs; works with Senior CON Business Officer on all hires, terminations, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions; recommends, develops, implements and revises office procedures; assists in preparation of budget and participates in monitoring of financial performance; conducts in-service training and monitors the skill levels of clinical staff; participates in interdisciplinary patient care conferences and team meetings; participates in supervisory conferences, staff meetings, in-services, continuing education programs, research activities, CQI and performance improvement activities; teaches and mentors health professional students, regardless of discipline, on theoretical and practical implications of care delivery by providers; serves as preceptor for RN and NP students and medical students; will enter into a Standard Care Agreement with a physician.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner required; Ohio State Licensure as RN, APN required; Ohio Prescriptive Authority and DEA License required; at least five years practice experience as an FNP required; considerable demonstrated success in a progressively responsible management capacity including direct experience in the occupation supervised required; strategic or long-range planning experience required.
